The HIPE-2026 lab is organized by an interdisciplinary team with expertise in natural language processing, digital humanities, historical text mining, and shared task coordination:

Postdoctoral researcher with a focus on semantic representation, evaluation, and generative models. -
Maud Ehrmann — EPFL, Switzerland
Initiator of the HIPE evaluation series; expert in information extraction, historical NLP, and digital humanities. -
Simon Clematide — University of Zurich, Switzerland
Initiator of the HIPE evaluation series; experienced in multilingual NLP, named entity processing, and evaluation campaign organization. -
Matteo Romanello — University of Zurich (SARI), Switzerland
Initiator of the HIPE evaluation series; specialist in citation mining, computational literary studies, and historical document annotation. -
Emanuela Boros — EPFL, Switzerland
Postdoctoral researcher working on relation and event extraction in historical sources. -
Andrianos Michail — University of Zurich, Switzerland
PhD researcher with top-performing shared task submissions and extensive mentoring experience.
